UHPC AIRCASE is the name of the hereby submitted design for a staircase, which serves nowadays demands on the building industry. Here, UHPC (ultra high performance concrete) describes a light weight structure out of precast concrete, reinforced by iron fibres. This allows thin crossections of 6cm. Compared to usual profiles, you can save 70% of the material, embodied energy and at least of the weight. This can be considered as an enormous approach towards a sustainable future. To make the sustainability rate even higher, another innovative material was used for the railing.
Magna Glaskeramik is a company, experimenting with wasteglass-granulates, which were pressed to translucent panels. They give a modern, light, but also ageless apperance to the staircase. The slope ration consits in 15cm height to 34cm stage depth.
