65 – Concrete Ratio Staircase

One of Oscar Niemeyer’s sayings which is « My work is not about form follows function, but form follows beauty; or even better, form follows feminine.” Following the Golden Ratio rule, which was heavily implemented by Le Corbusier and Oscar Niemeyer, I was able to create an over-all staircase that is made of concrete yet gives the feeling of an easily unforced structure being placed at one place because of it’s fluid shape and the use of transparent glass sheets on one side acting as a handrail. Second is the bottom part of the step that is semi-curved and finally, the third idea is the slick and slim design of the step that emerges from the semi-curved block underneath it.
